The “Uketsuke san”

In English, uketsuke means acceptance/reception. And just like most cases, if we add “san” after a word in Japanese language, the meaning become a person that does the word　or person　in charge. So, uketsuke san is a person who is in charge of acceptance/reception. In simpler word, uketsuke san is receptionist.

In Toshiba’s HRD office, there is a receptionist. A young female receptionist. Oh ya, in Japan, a receptionist, besides usual job a receptinonist has, has a unique job. In Japan, every morning a receptionist has to stand near the entrance of the office. She/he has to greet everyone entering the office by saying “ohayou gozaimasu”, good morning. (Cannot imagine how many times she/he has to say that greeting every day.)

Anyway, so there is this receptionist. She’s a lovely girl. Me and some other guys in the Global Employee like to see her. So during the training at the HRD, every morning entering the office, it’s a must (ha..ha..ha..), look to the right (she stands there), wait for her greeting and then answer it. Ha..ha.., so lovely.
