OK, a little note on Toshiba’s Fuchu Complex.

Toshiba’s Fuchu Complex Located in Fuchu shi, Tokyo ken, around 1 hour from Tokyo Station. It’s a small city, a country side. (And guess what? We have farms in Fuchu. Vegetables farms, wew :D ). You can read more details of the city at the city website.

OK, now about Toshiba’s Fuchu Complex. Quoted from a pamflete I received :

In April 1999, Toshiba introduced the  new in-house company system The Fuchu Complex, the largest factory complex in the Toshiba organization, houses the plants of two in-house companies and affiliate corporations as well. The Fuchu Complex has been supplying a wide range of products to society, including power, industrial, public, traffic and broadcasting systems that support our infrastructure, as well as the components and elements of these systems. The Fuchu Complex will continue to enrich the lifestyle and culture of people throughout the world while striving to achieve a harmonious balance between industry and the global environment.

Yap, the complex is very big. They say the area of the complex is equal to the total area of 16 soccer stadiums. The biggest factory complex in Tokyo ken.

There are two big Toshiba’s in-house companies in Fuchu Complex. First one is Industrial and Power Systems & Services Company. This company produces lots of things related to industrial and power systems. For example, traction motor for New Shinkansen train, train brake system, nuclear instrumentation and control systems, switchgear and so on.

The next in-house company (and also the company where I work) is Social Infrastructure Systems Company. This company’s main products are broadcasting studio systems, transmission systems and satellite broadcasting systems.

Toshiba’s elevator testing building is also in Fuchu Complex. The building’s height is equal to 27 stories building. I think it is the tallest building in Fuchu city.
